Yoga is a state of total relaxation and freedom of mind where there is an aceptance of what is and a faith in what will be. The state of yoga has both a look and a feel.

Over thousands of years many sages and yogis have described how they reached the state of yoga in their own way and many documented their journey to pass on others. We are blessed to have available ancient texts such as the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and The Sutras of Patanjali which shed light on some paths to yoga.

The good news is that there are many paths to experience the state of yoga.....the challenge is to find the right way for you. A teacher can provide invaluable support and guidance for you on this beautiful inner and outer journey.

Hatha Yoga

A good place to begin is with some Hatha Yoga practices. Hatha yoga practices are not guarateed to give you the lasting state of yoga, but generally you will feel good for regularly practicing hatha yoga.

Anyone can practice hatha yoga….the only prerequisite is being able to breathe. Even difficult looking postures and techniques have very simple variations; you do not have to be flexible or strong. Just have an open mind.

The practice of Hatha Yoga asanas (postures) are an excellent way to manage both physical and mental stress and an lead to physical benefits such as improved cardiovascular functioning, trimmer physique, stronger muscles and bones and increased flexibility. The benefit of pranayama (breathing) and deep relaxation techniques can improve mental capacity as well as reduce hypertension and blood pressure.

A One to One session is perfect for you if:

- you are new to yoga and want to have an assessment and some personal attention before attending a class

- you have a specific health condition or an injury and would like a tailored program to suit your individual needs

- you simply prefer the luxury of personal attention and wish to deepen your practice and understanding of yoga

During your One to One sessions, techniques and teachings will be tailored according to your needs and you will be guided to connect with your breath, be aware of your body and feel your heart. Ending with a deep relaxation, each session will give you a deeper sense of well being and internal balance.
